Johnson Zhuang
My name is Johnson, and I’m your Equity Officer for 2018. I’m in my fifth and final year of university and am looking forward to being your EO! My conjoint is a BA in German and History, and when I’m not in the Dave, I like to go rock climbing, take photos of stuff, or go to an overpriced café for a good smashed avo, instead of saving for a house deposit.
If you’re keen for a chat, I’m always available! You can email me at lawequityofficer@gmail.com, or message me on Facebook! Looking forward to meeting you all!

The Equity Officer Role
The position of the Equity Officer was established in 2016. The Equity Officer is an independent body to the AULSS Executive, appointed by Presidents and Directors of AULSS, TRT, PILSA, KLSA, Rainbow Law and Veritas. While the EO is independent, they have speaking rights at AULSS Executive Meetings, but no voting rights. The EO’s role is to ensure that the Executive takes in appropriate considerations when making decisions, as well as foster relationships between all the various student groups at Auckland Law. The EO meets with all the groups and helps the groups to work together to create a stronger sense of community within the Law School.
The EO also hears concerns from students. If anyone has concerns about how any group operates, the EO hears these concerns and if necessary looks into taking action. If you are uncomfortable with approaching AULSS, then the EO is the person to talk to! Otherwise, if you are uncomfortable with talking to the EO, you can email the Staff Equity representative, Hanna Wilberg at h.wilberg@auckland.ac.nz.
The current Equity Officer will stay in office until August 2018 (the time of the AULSS elections), where applications for a new Equity Officer will become open again through this website.
